History of NAHU   The National Association began in 1930 just a few years following the first recorded plan of modern day group medical expense coverage of 1921.  The original medical plan began when a hospital in Grinnell, Iowa offered hospital care on a prepaid basis to subscribers.  Baylor University Hospital followed with a similar plan for the University faculty in 1929.  Read the full story written by Wallace L.
